What Can Cause a Flood?
Storms are not the only cause of floods. Flooding can be caused by dams or levees breaking, new development changing how water flows above and below ground, snowmelt and much more.
Does Homeowners Insurance Cover Flood Damage
Flood damage is usually caused by water originating from a natural disaster, hurricane, or heavy rain event. This can include flash-flooding, sump pump failure, or prolonged roof leaks.
Homeowners Insurance may cover water damage but they don’t cover damages from flood.
